Yes. We repair and install rolling steel, sectional and roll-up doors for shops, warehouses and auto service bays, and offer maintenance plans for businesses with several doors.

Springs & repairs

Standard springs last about 10,000 cycles, which is 7–9 years for most families. High-cycle springs rated for 20,000–30,000 cycles can last 15 years or more.

Yes, on a two-spring door. Both springs have done the same number of cycles, so the second one usually breaks within months. Replacing the pair also keeps the door balanced.

It isn't recommended. The door is very heavy without spring help. If your car is trapped, call us. We can often come the same day or after hours.

In most cases a photo-eye sensor is blocked, dirty or misaligned. It can also be a door binding in the track, or opener force limits that need adjusting. We test all three and fix the cause.

Small dents can sometimes be pushed out. A panel with a crease or a bent strut usually needs to be replaced. If the section is still made, we order a matching panel instead of replacing the whole door.

Openers

Usually a stripped drive gear, a broken belt or chain, or a disconnected trolley. It can also mean a broken spring is leaving the door too heavy. We check the door first so we don't put a new gear on a door that will strip it again.

Yes. Since July 2019, California law (SB 969) requires battery backup on newly installed residential openers. Every opener we install includes it.

Belt-drive openers are much quieter, so they're best for attached garages with living space above. Chain drives are a little louder and cost slightly less.

Yes, as long as the door is balanced and the springs are healthy. We check the door first, because a smart opener on a bad door just fails sooner.

New garage doors

Most single and double residential doors take 4–6 hours. Two-door homes and custom glass doors can take a full day. You can use the garage again the same evening.

A like-for-like door replacement usually doesn't need a building permit. Changing the opening size does. We check the requirements for your address and handle any HOA forms.

In Southern California the biggest gains are a quieter, sturdier door and a cooler garage. If you use the garage as a gym, office or workshop, or it sits under a bedroom, insulation is well worth it.

Often, yes, if it is in good shape and has working safety sensors. We test it during the quote and tell you honestly whether it is worth keeping.
