Project overview
A busy auto repair shop off Harbor Boulevard runs its three bay doors dozens of times a day. Springs were breaking every year, and one operator had failed during business hours, leaving a bay out of action for a day.
We installed high-cycle torsion springs, replaced worn rollers and hinges, added a window section to each door for daylight, and installed new commercial jackshaft operators.
Client requirements
The owner needed doors that could take constant use without breaking down in the middle of a workday.
- Stop the yearly spring failures
- Reliable operators for heavy use
- More daylight in the bays
- Work done outside shop hours
Our solutions
We did the work over two evenings so all three bays stayed open during business hours.
1. High-cycle springs:
50,000-cycle torsion springs on all three doors.
2. New operators:
Commercial jackshaft operators with brakes and photo eyes.
3. Window sections:
One window section per door for daylight in the bays.
4. Maintenance plan:
Quarterly service visits to catch wear early.
Result & client feedback
The shop has gone more than a year with no spring or operator failures, and the bays are much brighter during the day. Interested in something similar? Read about our commercial garage door repair service.
