Project overview
The owners of this modern home in Corona del Mar had a dark flush door with a strip of vertical windows. It looked dated next to their new stucco and wood trim. They wanted more daylight in the garage, which they use as a gym, while keeping privacy from the street.
We installed a black aluminum full-view door with frosted, tempered glass panels, new springs sized for the heavier glass door, and a belt-drive opener with an LED light.
Client requirements
The door had to bring in daylight without letting people see in, and it had to hold up to salty air a few blocks from the beach.
- Natural light with privacy glass
- Corrosion-resistant frame and hardware
- Springs sized for a heavier glass door
- Quiet operation for an attached gym
Our solutions
We chose an anodized aluminum frame with frosted tempered glass and stainless hardware for the coastal setting.
